Don’t let your Ball cost you Shots

Following on from last weeks hocus-pocus, and the Q-Link, comes something so elegant in its simplicity, that even I can get my head around it and understand that it just may make some sense.

I’m referring to a gadget called, ‘Grade-a-Ball’. This device is based on the premise that if a golf ball isn’t round, then it wont roll straight or fly straight. As we continue to strike the same ball (something I’m getting better at..but I digress) the ball compresses and decompresses away from its original shape.

Now if you can imagine an out-of-shape ball, rolling over itself on a long putt, then over say 20 yds or more, the effects might be quite pronounced. The device was demonstrated to me at the London 2007 Golf Show and balls which seemed fine to the naked eye would not pass through the ring and thus proved to be unfit for competition and barely fit as a practise ball.

You can find out more information at www.gradeaball.com The website and the marketing are still ‘work in progress’ but I’m sure the guys behind it could be looking for potential distributors around the world. If you’re interested you can mail them at info@gradeaball, and say ‘hi’, from me.
