Golf Drivers

Nike Sumo DriverFollowing yesterday’s visit to the driving range, today has got me thinking about Golf Drivers. When I received the Golf ‘calling’, 7 months ago, I flirted with my $20, Driver but decided that the safest place for it was at the back of the garage. Yesterday my Driver saw the light of day, for the first time since then - and do you know what? - it felt pretty good.

It’s a measure of how my game has come on that it felt comfortable and above all, controllable. I was certainly getting more distance, more easily than with my trusted 3 Wood. When I recently upgraded my club set, this didn’t include a new Driver, so now I’m thinking I could be in the market for one of those bad boy, big dogs.

I guess the timing could be right for a radical look, square Driver, such as the Nike SQ Sumo or Callaway FT-i, or perhaps I’m just running ahead of myself and should stick with something more traditional such as the TaylorMade R7. Given also, I’ve gotten on so well with my Cobra 3 Wood, then a Cobra Speed Series Driver, would also be a serious consideration.

If anybody has any suggestions I would be pleased to hear. Words and phrases like ‘forgiving’, ‘easiest to hit’and ‘maximum distance’, score highly in my lexicon.
