Missing Putts

Now I know why I’m missing putts in the afternoon. One thing I hadn’t realised or noticed is that there is a loft on the putter, but then I guess it is hardly noticeable. However this loft is very important as it helps the ball get out of the ground and onto the top of the grass. How much loft is required is dependent on your putting style and the speed of the greens - the slower the greens or the more you have your hands forward, the more loft is normally required.
The reason I mention this, is that my golf coach, Ian Bamborough, visited the Ping factory last week where Chis Di Marco’s putting style was discussed. Amazingly, during the tournaments, Chris has his Ping putter, loft adjusted depending on his start time, as later in the day the greens will have grown slightly and the grain is more of a factor - now that’s attention to detail!
Doesn’t explain why I miss all those putts in the morning though…hmm!
