Aspiring Golfer receives a lot of PR pulp, most of which is swiftly consigned to the recycle bin. However I received a note on behalf of Gatorade which caught my interest and I thought maybe worthy of a post. It’s obvious from search engine results that many golfers are genuinely interested in what Tiger Woods, eats and drinks, both on and off the course, to maintain and fuel his incredible success. Well now I can shed a bit of light on the matter.
Woods has been drinking Gatorade Tiger on-course since December’s Target World Challenge to Benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation and says he’s excited for everyone to try it, now its hitting the stores. Gatorade began working with Tiger Woods in fall 2007, when he met with the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI).
Scientists conducted sweat analysis testing with Woods, which showcased his dedication to this collaboration and to improving every aspect of his training and competition. GSSI scientists measured Woods’ sweat rate, sweat electrolyte concentration, fluid and electrolyte balance and energy needs during a vigorous round of exercise. Based on the scientific results of the tests, GSSI developed a specialized hydration and nutrition strategy.
The result of this is a new line of Gatorade Thirst Quencher which is available in three flavors inspired and selected by Tiger. Gatorade Tiger is a carbohydrate drink to fuel muscles and deliver hydration that helps people stay on top of their game, both physically and mentally. The helpful people at Garotrade have even provided a video to showcase their development.
You can either believe the hype or dismiss it as opportunistic marketing (Reports are that Tiger could be earning up to $100 million over five years for this deal.), but my experience tells me that it will probably sell in bucket loads.

Does Gatorade offer a money back guarantee if we don’t hit like Tiger? Hmmm..regardless, I agree. I see everyone sweeping up on this deal…
